Would You Rather Wednesday?!?!?!

Would you rather be gossiped about or never talked about at all? Death is not an option. Things to consider: if you're never talked about it could mean you would tend to be forgetable. If you are gossiped about it could be because of your stand for Godly things (which wouldn't be a bad thing.)

*Today I'm thankful for a good productive day at work yesterday!

Sunburns Hurt...

Yesterday was the Annual Master's College golf tournament. Every year I am asked to work at it to greet the golfers and hand out gifts. It's a big day of fundraising for the college. The last three years Hugh and I have gotten to work together. This is always a fun day for us to catch up and try to annoy one another! :)
We had a great time but my arms got a major farmer's sunburn. I was burning up all last night. Another highlight was getting to meet my sisters favorite #1 person crush....Kirk Cameron. She was texting me telling me she was "Jelly" (that means jealous). I got a good laugh out of it.

People of the Week: Admissions Interns

I love the interns that work in my office. They are caring, loving, always willing to pitch in and serve, and they are FUN!!!! We work hard and laugh a lot. Last night we had our End of Year Party at my house. We missed Sarah, Luke, Esther and Megan but the highlight was just being together. We had a taco bar and yummy deserts. We then played a game where John asked everyone thirty three questions regarding the year and people in the office. Hugh and Hampton took first and second place. It was sad to say goodbye to Bobbie and Hugh as they will be graduating in two weeks. I am so grateful that the Lord has blest me with such wonderful people to work with. These people have become family and I consider them one of God's biggest blessings in my life. Holla for Admissions!!!

*Today I'm thankful that Tricia made it back home safe.

Last night Ivy came over to spend the night. I had a hard day at work, wasn't feeling well, was really tired, and left a lot of unfinished work but I felt joy that I got to spend time with my neice. I went to get her from Wendy's and she had made me dinner (it was so good) and then she gave the girls a bath together so I didnt need to do that when I got home. I was thankful. I love Wendy and her kids. I love seeing Ivy and Katie togehter. They are so cute.
Ivy and I had a fun night and laughed a lot together. She's a snuggler and likes to seep right next to you....all night long. It was a restless night for me but i loved it! :)

Yesterday was a good day. It was Administrative Assistant Day so the office started out by taking Megan to Starbucks. We got to sit outside and just enjoy talking and all being together. I LOVE MY OFFICE. We have a great time together. I went back and had a couple of meetings and then Megan and I left to go to Glen Ivy spa. She had a massage and I did a pedicure. We also did the Grotto there. It was super fun for me as Meg had never been to a spa or received any pampering like that before. We also sat in the hottub and the sauna...it was so fun.
Then I went with Kelli and Wendy to The Grove. The Grove is one of my favorite places to go shopping or hang out down in LA. It's beautiful and a great place to "people watch." Maryann met us for diner at Cheescake Factory. It was a great and tiring day! When I got into work I only had 57 emails for being gone for an afternoon! Snap!

Would You Rather Wednesday?!?!?!

You've been naughty. Would you rather get three hard smacks on your bare butt with a paddle or have to go a week without any television or music? Death is not an option. Things to consider there is no physical pain with the restrictions and you will probably be sore for a day or two and get a bruise from the paddle.

*Today I'm thankful that I get to spend the afternoon with Megan at Glen Ivy spa.

Cough Sneeze Breathe...

I mentioned yesterday that I've been sick! I haven't posted on this becasue I don't want to be a complainer. In fact, if anything I don't like to talk about it because I am constantly reminded how blest I am with my health and I could be a lot worse off. I have not been feeling great for about a year and a half. When I first started feeling bad I thought it was my yearly sinus infection that I get but it never went away. I have a cough, am tired, difficulty breathing and on and off other symptoms.
I have been to numerous doctors and have ruled out many things. I have had X-rays, CT's, breathing tests, shots, antibiotics, nasal sprays, allergy pills, inhalers, I just did a body de-tox and nothing seems to work.
I'm starting to try the All natural route....it's killing me but i think there might be something to it. I have been taking a lot of fiber, Omega 3, probotics and vitamins. I have also tried to cut out (limit) sugar and white flour products. I did really good for a week and then started to feel better. After two days of feeling good I munched on cornbread, cheesy potatoes, and brownies and within hours I wasn't feeling good again.
Needless to say I'm back on the "Hollie is going to lose it if she doesn't get a little chocolate soon" diet. Pray for me friends! Pray that I can be disciplined and that I can get to the bottom of what is making me sick.

*Today I am thankful that I don't have any serious health issues that prevent me from living my life!

I've been a slacker. Not because I am lazy or don't have anything to say, I've been sick and tired! This weekend was another busy one. I had dinner on Friday night with my good friends Angela and Jared then we went to bible study. Saturday I helped throw a shower for a friend (Sarah) in my bible study. Sarah is also the same person who watches Ivy during the week. Then I had to take my car in as a baseball hit my windshield at the college and cracked it. $167 later I got to go home! Saturday nigth I got to hang out at the house with Tricia. I LOVE my roommate. IT's funny because even though we live together it's a special treat when we are both home together and it's fun to just kick it with her.
Today I went to church and it was my first Sunday doing "The Courtyard". It's where all the visitors come and we talk to them and make them feel wecome to our church. I was just thinking how intimidating it would be to come visit a church of thousands of people. IT's a priveldge to be able to talk with them and help them get connected.
Mom...I hope this is a good update for you. I'm still alive and kicking! Call me when you get back from NM!

*Today I'm thankful for Lifetime movies.

My special person this week is Jenny McCown! I love this girl and miss her terribly. One thing about Jenny is that even though we are hundreds of miles apart and don't get to see eachother much our friendship hasn't changed. I love you Jen and am praying for you!

*Today I am thankful for the HOT weather.

I really like this CD. Alicia and I have been kicking it in the car for the past week and we've been really enjoying eachother's company. This is a great chill CD. It's a bit of R&B and Soul. Check it out. It's a goodie!

*Today I'm thankful for Luke. (he's in my office and he made me laugh yesterday...I needed it!....and it made me thankful that he's part of the office...our newest addition!)

Happy Birthday Mayah!

It was a year ago that my brother brought his family out for a visit. We had such a good time. It was so fun spending time with them and getting to know my neice and nephew better. This is a picture of Mayah and I on our way to Disneyland. We had so much fun!
Mayah, I wish we could be together on your birthday. I would spoil you and give you lots of hugs and kisses. I'm glad you had fun at your birthday party. Maybe next time I can come. Come visit me soon. I will take you to Disneyland again. I love you Mayah! Happy Birthday!

Psalm 63:1-3

"God, you are my God;
Early I will seek You;
My sould thirsts for you;
My flesh longs for you
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.

So I have looked for you in
the sanctuary. To see your power
and Your glory.
Because Your lovingkindness is better
than life,
My lips shall praise You."

*Today I am thankful for the quiet.

Bon Jovi...

I am a big concert goer! Last night I went to see Bon Jovi. This was my fourth time seeing them in concert but the thing I was most excited about was that Chris Daughtry opened for them. After being stuck in traffic we made it for the last two songs of Chris. :( He was awesome!
Once again Bon Jovi did a great job! I didnt think we had good seats because we got the tickets last minute but they turned out to be great. They sang all my favorites. A big shout out to Maryann and Kathleen! It was great girls! (Voda, I sang my heart out for ya girl!)

*Today I'm excited for SATURDAY!!!!! Holla!

Meet Thomas Beatie. He's Pregnant

OK seriously....what is this world coming too? I first heard of this story when I saw a promo for Oprah. I went to the internet to do a little research as I found this unbelieveable. Here is the story...
"Beatie's a transgender man that is expecting a child. Though he underwent surgery to switch genders, he kept his female reproductive organs and is nearly six months pregnant.
He tells Oprah that his current wife Nancy is unable to conceive and that's the only reason he's going through with the pregnancy. Beatie was able to conceive via artificial insemination.
Thomas tells Oprah in a show clip, "I'm a person and I have the right to have my own biological child."
He expects to deliver a girl around July 3rd."

Romans 1:24-25 "Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the Truth of God for the lie, and worshipped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen."

*Today I am thankful for Trader Joes Roasted Tomato Soup.

Would You Rather Wednesday?!?!?!

Would you rather go the rest of your life with no music or no television? Things to consider all background music on tv would be gone as well.

*Today I am thankful for allergy medicine.

I love my new table! When Tricia and I moved in together she bought a nice dining room table. With her getting married soon I was going to be needing a new one. Tricia and I found a great deal when we were at Cost Plus World Market last week. I wanted to share it with everyone. I love having people over and it will be a nice piece of furniture to entertain with. Isn't it cute!?!?!

*Today I'm thankful for my new dining room table.
